Mary’s Path Partners with Bank of America to Teach Teen Moms Better Money Habits®

Teaching teenagers how to manage their money is important no matter what the circumstances. And for our teen moms at Mary’s Path, it’s especially valuable as they work to break the cycle of poverty and abuse so many of them grew up in. We want our moms to learn that knowing how to manage their money affords them more power over their life choices and more security in the long run.

That’s why Mary’s Path is proud to partner with Bank of America to offer our moms the Better Money Habits® program. This curriculum is a series of free financial education materials and lessons that break down day-to-day money management concepts like saving, budgeting, credit and more in an accessible way. B of A volunteers will share lessons with our moms about how they can meet their financial goals and plan for their futures. The program will be offered in English and Spanish.

So many of our girls have seen their power stripped away after being forced into sex trafficking. We want to help them get it back one step at a time. Helping our moms envision a future where they can support their families, make smart money decisions and feel empowered by their finances gets to the core of what we do at Mary’s Path. We’re excited to start this journey!
