Mary’s Expands Programs and Services For Teen Moms

At Mary’s Path, our number one priority is helping our teen moms deal with their trauma and
become the best mothers they can be for their babies. That’s why we’re so excited to have expanded
our team of caring professionals who are working toward that goal every day. We recently added two
new staff members who will help educate our moms and help them reestablish ties to their families and
community.

Alexandra Garcia joins Mary’s Path as our new Family Finder Specialist. In her role, Garcia will
reach out to family and friends who can act as a support system for our moms and their babies once
they leave Mary’s Path.

“I know that these clients have gone through so much and I just want to be there so I can make
their life just a little bit better,
” Garcia said. By reconnecting with their communities, our hope is our
mom’s will have people who can celebrate their accomplishments, show them compassion and care
when they’re feeling down and step up in times of need.

We’re also thrilled to welcome Elena Becerra as our new Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
Counselor. Becerra will build a program to educate our teen moms about the effects of drugs and
alcohol, as well help them deal with triggers and family histories that might make them vulnerable to
SUDs.

“I’ve always thought that the younger I can give education and understanding, the better,” she
said. Becerra has a passion for working with underserved communities, which was one of the reasons
she was drawn to Mary’s Path.

We can’t wait to see the positive impact our new staff members have on our teen moms and
their babies. We’re so happy to have them on the Mary’s Path team!
